IBF-ABS Sustainable Finance Masterclass: Green Financing Flows from China to the World

The Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) and Asian Banking School (ABS) is pleased to present the IBF-ABS Sustainable Finance Masterclass: Green Financing Flows from China to the World – Aligning with the Multi-Jurisdiction Common Ground Taxonomy.

The special masterclass, held in celebration of ABS’s 1st anniversary in Singapore will feature a presentation by Professor Wang Yao, Director General of the International Institute of Green Finance (IIGF), as she discusses how ASEAN financial institutions can leverage China’s capital flows and the Multi-Jurisdiction Common Ground Taxonomy (M-CGT), jointly launched by the People’s Bank of China (PBOC), EU, and MAS, to accelerate sustainable finance growth, attract more investments, and strengthen the region’s green finance ecosystem.

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion which explores green financing opportunities arising from partnerships between China, Singapore, and ASEAN markets, focusing on how financial institutions (FIs) can enhance cross-border financial connectivity.

Speaker

Prof. Wang Yao

Prof. Wang Yao is the Director General of the International Institute of Green Finance at Central University of Finance and Economics. She serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Green Finance Committee, China Society for Finance & Banking, and an advisor to the Green Development Committee of the Securities Association of China. She is also a Member of the Sustainable Finance Advisory Panel at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Her research on the green economy and sustainable finance is highly influential, encompassing over 120 published papers. She has led more than 100 research projects and authored 34 monographs. She was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award" in 2019 at the Annual China Excellent Green Finance Awards from "Asian Money".
